Donation of 1,000 KN95 face masks to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital, Kalubowila.

There were severe constraints placed on our activities this year based on countrywide health concerns. Despite that, the Association, in its continuous efforts in engaging with and contributing meaningfully to our society, recently donated 1,000 KN95 face masks to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital, Kalubowila. The President was joined by a small number of committee members in handing over the donation to Dr.Pradeep Wijesinghe, Director, and Dr. Shirani Chandrasena, Consultant Microbiologist, on 27th Nov 2020 on behalf of the Association.

By a subsequent letter of appreciation, the Director mentioned that following our Association’s donation, several other parties had also followed our gesture of goodwill, and thanked us for initiating a step that was presently of critical importance to all medical teams.
