Projects Done for the Community During the Past Years
Each year, the Association undertakes a project for the benefit of the community. In doing so, we seek to identify a pressing requirement that would, in the context of the then prevailing situation, be substantial enough to commit our collective resources towards, but within a scope manageable enough for the Association to complete.
Following are main projects that have been undertaken and completed through the years, as well as smaller pressing and worthy requirements of the community towards which the Association has assisted spontaneously from time to time:

10 | Donation of cement and squatting pans, dry rations, clothes and school books and equipment to the Ruwanpitiya border village inthe Maduru Oya region |
11 | Donation of provisions, schoolbooks and writing materials to the children of the Welikanda Maha Vidyalaya Students’ Hostel, in the Maduru Oya region |
12 | Donation of mattress, mackintoshes, oxygen regulators and apedestal fan to the Childrens’ Ward (No.15B) of the CancerHospital, Maharagama. Distribution of dry rations, sweets, Provided materials andSustagen to the inmates. Painting, tiling, plumbing and fitting of a sink inthe pantry. Provision of tiled tables and chairs of the mothersofthe children to have their meals |
13 | Training programmes in Montessori Teacher Training, dress making, computer applications, Singer sewing courses, and English classes for war widows and theirchildren, in different parts of the island, including Colombo, Kandy, Kurunegala, Anuradhapura and Galle. Also, donation of a sewing machine to a deserving war widow |

21 | Provision of medical equipment and drugs to the Pediatric Ward of the Karawanella Hospital |

23 | Donation to Lanka Alzheimer’s Foundation for purchase of 100 Chairs for LAF Auditorium at Maradana Centre |

25 | Donation of taps and required material for setting up pipe borne drinking water units for the children of U.B. Wanninayake Vidyalaya, Ballalle |
26 | Donation of a multipurpose para monitor to the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital |
27 | Donation of essential surgical instruments and an Industrial Washing Machine to the Gynae-Oncology Ward 27 of the General Hospital (Teaching) Kandy |
